BMW Swirl Flap replacements 22mm & 33mm

22mm Blanks are priced at £4.50 ea. Please see other auction for the larger 33mm blanks they are £5.00 ea. Postage is free (for UK mainland). The hole left in the manifold when the swirl flap is removed will be either 22mm or 33mm in diameter (approximately). Please use other auction to order the larger 33 mm type blanks. There doesn’t seem to be any rule as to which are fitted on particular engines or models (although pre '04 cars seem to generally be the smaller size, but not always) so you may need to order a set of both sizes, the unused set will be refunded if returned in good order by recorded delivery. The smaller size also fit the BMW engined Opel Omega 2.5 tdi. Although these parts are cheaper than other similar parts avaliable from alternative suppliers they are by no means inferior and perform exactly the same function.

Aluminium Vauxhall Omega Headlight Adjusters (post '98)

Post 1998 headlights (manufactured by Hella) have a plastic internal adjuster which is made from a material called PBT and is highly prone to breaking. Once the adjuster has snapped the headlights can 'bounce' or 'wobble' and don't point in the correct direction. if this has happened to you I'm sure your aware how annoying this is! This could also result in an MOT failure. The GM group or Hella do not make this component as a spare part, headlights with broken adjusters need the complete unit replaced at a large cost.

The broken internal adjusters can be replaced with the aluminium components sold here. The components are machined from aluminium alloy billet and are supplied as singles, enough for one headlight. The parts are a slightly different shape from the original, as you can see in the photo, this was done to ease machining and hence reduce the cost. Although the shape is slightly different they will work in exactly the same way but they are much stronger in both their design and the material from which they are made.

The adjuster is good for one headlight either driver or passenger side and is shipped first class recorded delivery (£2.00 to UK mainland, £10 Worldwide). The postage cost is the same how ever many parts you need.

On purchase I can e-mail a detailed description of how to change the parts, or you can use this link http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1271424451/0#0

The fitting procedure is simple, if you follow the instructions, to change the adjuster in a single unit took me about and hour.

BMW E39 Angel Eye Aluminium Headlight Adjusters

Face lift angle eye headlights (manufactured by Hella) have plastic internal adjusters, these are made from PBT and are prone to breaking. Once the adjusters have snapped the headlights 'bounce', if this has happened to you I'm sure your aware how annoying this is! This could also result in an MOT failure. BMW do not make this component as a spare part, headlights with broken adjusters need the complete unit replaced at a large cost (the units are in the region of £400+ each).

The broken internal adjusters can be replaced with the aluminium components sold here. The components are machined from aluminium alloy billet and are supplied as a set (2 parts), enough for one headlight. The parts are a slightly different shape from the original, as you can see in the photo, this was done to ease machining and hence reduce the cost. Although the shape is slightly different they will work in exactly the same way, they are just much stronger, in both their design and the material from which they are made.

The set is good for one headlight, either driver or passenger side and is shipped first class recorded delivery (£3.50 to UK mainland, £12 Worldwide (same price for any quantity)). On purchase I can e-mail a detailed description of how to change the parts, or if you just search the internet for 'E39 headlight adjusters' you will find many similar descriptions.

As with the original components from Hella the holes in the adjusters are not tapped, this should be done on assembly with the 10mm nut on the end of the adjuster screw, not the 6mm hex on the top of the unit. The holes in the parts have been sized to make this assembly simple and result in a good fit between adjuster and screw.

BMW E39 Non Angel Eye Aluminium Headlight Adjusters

Non angle eye headlights (manufactured by Hella) have plastic internal adjusters, these are made from PBT and are prone to breaking. As above BMW do not make this component as a spare part, headlights with broken adjusters need the complete unit replaced at a large cost (the units are in the region of £400+ each).
